Guns of the Helghast 4 – Year Anniversary!

GotH 4 Year Anniversary Speeches

Greetings from Guns of the Helghast and welcome to our 4 – YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT post! 🙂

This past Friday, July 26th, 2013, Guns of the Helghast celebrated our four-year presence as a club within PlayStation Home*.  All members of GotH able to attend assembled within the walls where we first officially convened.  As can be seen in the header image above we celebrated this special occasion in old-school fashion within a jazzed-up version of our original clubhouse, thanks go out to Commander Sons who hosted the event and for the celebratory renovation.  Beginning the event with a touching speech, Sons’ words set the tone for the remainder of the night, one of gratitude and future promise.  These sentiments were echoed among the attendees, many of whom chose to take center-stage in order to share their own heartfelt hopes and experiences over the past year and beyond.  While Sons, our revered leader, is ultimately responsible for bringing us all together and keeping his troops aligned we shall not confine our gratitude solely to his person, we have much to be proud of this year and many others who deserve mention as well.

It has been a glorious four years for Guns of the Helghast and we’ve certainly come a long way from our more humble beginnings as just a Killzone 2 clan**.  In GotH’s past year (July 29th, 2012 – July 29th, 2013) alone we have accomplished many a good deed.  First, I’d like to point out Guns of the Helghast’ continued consistency with scheduled events.  Up until recently we regularly hosted nine events per week near – flawlessly, ranging from our multiple meetings generating and implementing community feedback, our various casual and competitive gamenights, and our other Home-inspired activities and events.  Second, I’m grateful for our new gamenights.  Both Battlefield 3The Last Of Us have recently been added to our roster, giving our community two more fun options to engage in and increasing the number of our weekly hosted events to eleven!  Third, our media branch, Ghastly Studios, has expressed themselves and their artistic ambitions through some very entertaining new machinimas this past year, well done.  Fourth, this past year also saw the emersion of a new branch to GotH, the Blog Team and our current website,  allowing an additional outlet for community creativity, feedback, and sharing.  Fifth, as a club Guns of the Helghast has achieved recognition from a variety of sources throughout the year.  Multiple Home developers such as LOOT have mentioned us in some respect, the major gaming website N4G.com has hosted our event articles, and we’ve even landed on the Official Killzone Facebook page as their only Community Organization.  Our final large milestone of the year was one of the biggest, Guns of the Helghast made it to E3 2013***! 🙂  We here at Guns of the Helghast have been very busy with all the great opportunities presented to us by our members, our fans, and the organizations we look up to, and we are truly grateful and humbled to have come so far so quickly.

It hasn’t always been easy for Guns of the Helghast, every group has its fair share of challenges, but it is thanks to the dedication, hard work, and passion of our Staff, Event Hosts, Members, and Associates that we are able to keep moving forward into uncharted territory.  And not only for our sake but for those of our Readers & Viewers,  our Fans & Supporters, do we continue to move ever onward.  Guns of the Helghast strives to be the best community we can be and stand proud amidst all of our accomplishments while never losing the lesson of humility; all our greatness is derived from the whole, we each are the pillars of our own community’s success and without any one of us we all suffer.  Thank you, all of you, for helping us to stand tall and remain strong through this past year, the years before, and all the years yet to follow.

Expect continued content from us in the future across all our outlets.  For the love of our community and all its great potential, and regardless of any hardship come our way, Guns of the Helghast will continue to march ever onwards toward triumph. 🙂

See you all next Monday, August 5th, 2013, to relay what this approaching Friday’s adventure entailed.
